Rats are creating messes in students' kitchens
Rats are starting to take over Seething Wells students’ kitchens, as these rodents are creating messes and breaking cupboards.
A rat infestation has started to spread between different blocks in Seething Wells Halls of Residence which has led many Kingston University students alarmed and frustrated on the matter, such as flats like the first floor of U block where pest control still has not arrived.
“One of my flatmates is particularly queasy with rodents and almost fainted when seeing a rat scurry across the kitchen floor,” said Luke Dreyer, a resident in U.
“We don’t know how long they have been in our walls. They have created holes in our cupboards and ate our food. They have left a foul smell and caused us to throw any food we had stored away.”
“We were informed pest control would arrive quick to deal with the situation. To our disappointment, pest control still hasn’t come round.”
The problem with rats is not just in U block, but T block and H have also been experiencing problems. The residents of T are saying that they are “fed up” with issues like this and many other residents of Seething are questioning why they “pay so much to live in halls” when the flats are starting to be “swarmed” with rats.
Pest control have been contacted according to the Maintenance Team of Seething
Wells: “Pest control have arrived for some flats but not all,” they said.
It has been advised to flats to regularly clean kitchens, to not leave food out unsealed, particularly in cupboards, and to seal anything that is left out.
