Kingston University prepares for Women's History Month Celebrations

Kingston University is celebrating Women’s History Month this March with a range of free activities to show support for the women studying here.

From March 1 to March 31, Women’s History Month will be observed to highlight achievements and success of women across the world, throughout time. Kingston University’s Student Union has organised a plethora of activities to help capture the spirit of the month, and celebrate powerful and inspiring women everywhere.

The theme for this year is “Women who advocate for equity, diversity and inclusion’, which recognises the power women have had in making societal advancements, but reminds us that there is still more work to be done to liberate all women globally.

The university’s wellness officer, Sarmmed said: "Hopefully this Women's History Month can inspire students to honour the past, to celebrate the present and strive for a future where every woman's voice is not only heard, but valued and empowered."

The Union of Kingston Students have been working closely with Women Muslim Students and the student equality contributors to “deliver a packed calendar by March.”

The Women Society, Midwifery Society, Nursing Society and Sport and Active lifestyles have come together to create a month packed with activities for women to come together to support one another and celebrate womanhood with one another. The activities include sports and fitness classes such as gym form workshops, pilates and ballet, as well as bracelet making, painting and cookie decorating. The timetable can be found here.
